Meeting was called to order by Bob Shapiro, District Commodore

Fleets Present:

189 – Marblehead
301 – Mallets Bay

493 – Bow Lake

A motion was approved to dispense with the reading of the Secretary’s Report (Rick H./Bill F.)

The Treasurers Report was read by Bob Shapiro and approved by the membership (Rick H./Heather A.). Projected balance at the end of July 2008 is $1,220.

Old Business:
A new Junior District Championship trophy was purchased for $200 and was awarded to Ian S. at the 2008 District Championships. The District Officers are now tracking the whereabouts of all trophies. The current list, including who is responsible for the trophies, is:
Women’s: Meredith Pawlison (Mark Gardner responsibility)
Master’s: Trophy is missing
Junior’s: (Ian S. - out of district)
District Championship (Bill Fastiggi)
Pratt Trophy (Dick Fastiggi)
Sportsmanship Trophy (Patrick G.)
District Circuit: Trophy is missing

New Business:
The election of new officers for the next two year term (beginning October 2008) was approved by the district (Rick H./Scott M.). Dan Egan was elected Commodore and Sterling Bush was elected Secretary. No additional nominations were considered (Rick H./Arnie T.).

Squam Lake will host the 2009 District Championships. A discussion was held to consider moving the Districts up to provide more time between the Championship and the filing deadline for NA berths, however, Squam Lake can not hold the Championship prior to July 4, 2009.

No progress was made towards developing a VT/NH Challenge. Bob Bush will continue to work on this.

Bill Fastiggi proposed that the District replace both the Master’s District Championship Trophy and the Sportsmanship Trophy in the coming year. The motion was approved by the District (Bill F./Rick H.).

A motion was approved to adjourn the meeting at 5:38 p.m. (Patrick G./Rick H.).

*Special Note: At 13 minutes, we believe that a record may have been set for the shortest District meeting in New England District history. The class officers believe that this was due to timing the meeting to coincide with the availability of a keg of beer!
